2.38 Grace!

This is my new niece Grace when she is just a couple hours old. She is a big baby at 9lbs and 55cm long. Everyone is doing well so high fives all round!
My dad sent me this pic when he went to visit. I won't get to see her until I go home in 6 weeks but that will give everyone a chance to settle in a bit and she'll be a little more alert. Exciting!

2.37 Fitness First

I joined FF last week and went for the first time today. It was good to get back, although the walk home afterwards took me twice as long as it normally does haha. The plan is to go 2 or 3 times a week for now and do some classes.

2.36 Emergency drinks sesh

Tonight we had an emergency drinks sesh (and subsequently dinner) due to a little bit of drama around one of my friends making a big decision and an overall feeling of flatness. Drinks made everything better!

I had a serious bargain shopping day today! The only thing I actually needed was the pie weights but couldn't resist the opportunity to #spendmoneytosavemoney haha.

I really do have enough accessories to last me a lifetime so I have compromised with myself and said I will now only buy sale items or special pieces. Special pieces do not currently have a criteria, though I really think they should so I don't use that reason to liberally!

Tragic, I know.

2.35 Step Brothers app

I was reminded today of my love for the Step Brothers quotes app! If you liked the movie then you need to get this app to listen to the quotes over and over again. Most Will Ferrell movies have quote apps actually. Love Will!

How crazy was the draw in the AFL grand final?!?! Looks like my plans for next Saturday have changed with the replay being on at 2.30pm.

2.34 Lychee White Sangria

Seriously good and was a perfect end to a beautiful warm spring day!

We had our regular girls dinner at A&F's place tonight and Fi cooked up an amazing Spanish feast for us. I wish I had taken pics as it was an amazing dinner but of course, I forgot about it until we had almost finished.

It ended up being a very late night with lots of the gorgeous lychee sangria, wine and pineapple/mint/vodka/lemonadecocktails consumed. Love our girls nights, always lots of fun!

2.32 Glee!

Glee is back! Yeewwww!!

Thankfully now Channel 10 are screening it at the same time as the US, which makes a nice change as we're usually a few weeks behind. It means I font have to download it which is also good as Gossip Girl, How I Met Your Mother and 30 Rock have all just started up again and my download limit is minuscule.

This ep of Glee was fabulous! I loved all the songs this week as well as the introduction of new characters. I'm going to have 'Every Rose Has it's Thorn' in my head for days now haha.

Apparently next week is the Britney Spears ep!! Can't wait. I'm a total Gleek!

2.31 Pop Art

I hadn't taken any pics today so took a quick one of myself and gave it the Pop Art treatment. Gotta love iPhone apps!

2.30 Orange flowers

These pretty little things are scattered all over our apartment complex. I love that they're so bright and vibrant. A sure sign that spring is here!

2.29 Ryo's Noodles

Anna and I went to dinner at Ryo's tonight and it was fantastic. It's a tiny little place in Crows Nest that always has a line outside waiting to get in. I can completely understand why - their noodle soups great! I've lived in the area for 4 years and never been, but after reading about it on the Tasted by Two blog (one of my favourite food blogs - http://tastedbytwo.com/ ) we decided to try it.



We each had the soy sauce pork noodle soup and shared some of the miso bolognaise - it was amazing! We will definitely be heading back there soon - I wish I had discovered it earlier!

2.28 Powderfinger Sunsets Tour

The concert tonight was amazing!!!! I don't even really know how to describe how excited I was beforehand. I've been a Powderfinger fan for a good 14 years or so and I can't believe tonight is the 2nd last time I'll get to see them live. It's quite sad really but once they started playing I was ecstatic! I had lots of fun jumping around and singing along. I only wish it could have lasted longer.

I can barely remember what songs they played, it all kinda blurred. They did play a few of my absolute faves tho - Bless My Soul, Sunsets, My Kind of Scene and These Days. Love love love!!

I am stoked that I'll get to see them once more at their final ever show in Brisbane at the Riverstage. Love outdoor concerts!

2.27 Pork belly with prawns and lentils

Lunch today should have been all kinds of awesome but unfortunately was a but of a let down. The prawns were fantastic but the pork belly was over cooked and the lentils were drowned in some not-so-nice sauce. Disappointing but not to worry. It was just good to get out of the office for a while! Especially on a Friday, for some reason they seem to drag on forever.

My plans for tonight have been cancelled which is actually a good thing (sorry boys!) as I'm looking forward to a night in filled with trashy tv - the Entourage finale, Keeping up with the Kardashians and Jersey Shore. Trashy heaven!

2.26 Brandon Flowers

I recently bought Brandon Flowers' first solo album from iTunes and today was the first time that I listened to it. I instantly fell in love with Jilted Loves and Broken Hearts which is really catchy and reminds me a bit of old Killers material. I've had it on repeat all day!
I used to adore The Killers. They were one of my favourite bands and Hot Fuss remains one of my all time favourite albums. Unfortunately they remind me of a particular person/time in my life so I haven't listened to them all that much lately. That feeling has faded though and I no longer have to change the radio station when they come on!

This album was exactly what I needed today and I cannot wait to listen to it more.

2.25 Lime Tart

This is the lime tart I made. Quote unfortunate looking isn't it?! Thankfully it tasted amazing and the girls forgave me for adding green food colouring to the lime filling! Ahh, another silly kitchen adventure gone wrong.

I made the base from scratch! Yay me! I've only tried making shortcrust pasty one before and it was pretty disastrous. This one was beautiful. I might start trying to make some more tarts now that I have a bit of pastry confidence.

I hope you all watched the Farmer Wants a Wife finale!! There were no huge surprises but it was great to see everyone happy.
