Day 40: New pretty things

So today I left home without putting on any jewellery or headpieces. WHOA. That's just not how I roll. So on my way to work I went through Diva and bought the cool feathery hair clip and the pretty gold, pearl, pink and crystal earrings which are soooo pretty! Def made me feel a lot more prepared to face work.

Day 39: Cupcake Courier has arrived!

Day 38: My Little Pony

hehehe, Cute huh?
So I had a male friend who was visiting from Bris see my room one day and he was shocked at how pink it was and said he was surprised there were no pretty little ponies up in here. So I went out and bought one! this pony is a reminder of the hottest ranga I know :) (and also my lameness in having a pink bedroom at the age of 27)

Day 37: Big Apple Red

I pretty much have my nails painted all the time. Last night I painted them this gorgeous colour, which was my first OPI purchase - Big Apple Red. It's a bit WHOA but I can handle it.

Day 36: Rum Balls

yes it is the sign of a true Qld bogan if they drink Bundy Rum! LOVE IT!! Made these for AFL Grand Final day (congrats Cats, Lions will win it next year I swear)

I don't really follow a recipe (much with most things I make), but you can find the following ingredients in them:

Golliwog biscuits
condensed milk
copha
icing sugar
cocoa
sprinkles to decorate - I thought I had coconut but must have thrown it out and couldn't be bothered going back to the shop.
and of course, lots of Bundy Rum!

Day 35: Lollies

I love lollies but am breaking up with them :( sad but it needs to happen.

This is a pic of the awesome lolly store in North Sydney that I frequent. The owner is super friendly and the lollies are always fresh (never those hard yucky stale ones)

Day 34: Flowers

Love these flowers, so pretty and only $4 a bunch at Chatswood. I buy them every couple of weeks to brighten up my room.

Day 33: And it was all... orange!!

Holy shit! Imagine waking up at 7am this morning and seeing this bright orange glow in your room coming through the blinds, you open the blinds and everything is bathed in orange light. This was the sight I got this morning due to a huge dust storm in Sydney. It was the most surreal thing!

Looking at pics online the colour had been a lot darker/brighter earlier in the morning, but faded to a really light yellowy peach colour by 9am. Walking around outside was disgusting and my throat and nose are really sore now. Boooo. Oh well, was definitely something interesting to spice up an otherwise ordinary day :)

Day 32: Summer Lovin

It was hot in Sydney today, so I decided that my nails needed a fresh coat of prettyness. Enter Australis' Summer Lovin! I adore it, It;s a gorgeous soft sherberty peach colour, very similar to Nars Orgasm, though maybe less god shimmer. I am totally in love with it!

Btw it's actually a bit brighter than in this pic, lighting was a bit dodgy.

Unforch the weather is going back to cold tomorrow, but I can't be bothered to change my nailpolish again so I'll just need to be mismatched. Damn the weather!

Day 31: SATC!!!

Squeeeeee! Charlotte and Lily!! How cute do they look??

I am so excited for the 2nd SATC movie, i wish it was here already! I hate seeing/reading spoilers but I just can't help myself with this one. I need to know everything there is to know asap.

Pic was taken of an article in Aus OK! mag which is now the only trashy celeb gossip mag I buy. Love it!!

Day 30: Cupcakes

Made some cupcakes today to take to work. I told everyone when I first started that I love to make cupcakes so thought I had better take some in. They're plain vanilla with vanilla buttercream.

Day 29: Sarah's Bday drinks!

Yay for Sarah's 27th birthday!

Love this pic, so silly haha. Sarah organised drinks at the Lincoln in the Cross - was such a fun night! It's been fun getting to know her and meeting her friends, and it's all thanks to our much-loved friend Damo! I miss that kid sooo much and wish he could have been there.

Also, loved my makeup that night! Can't really see eye makeup unforch, but loving NARS Orgasm sick!!!

Day 27: Pretty sparkly bow ring!

Bought this cute bow ring from a little store in Greenwood Plaza on Thurs (day the pic was taken) - love it!! So many people have complimented me on it. One of my fave new purchases!

Day 26: Don't call this a Comeback

I love Grinspoon. In fact, they may just be my fave band of all time. I very clearly remember the first time I heard DCx3 14 years ago and knew immediately that they were going to be awesome. I am obsessed with their latest album! Sooo good. Even more than I was expecting.

It all makes a bit too much sense though haha. I used to love lyrics such as 'instead I had a gokart' which, to me at least, didn't make all that much sense. This album really is fab, and one of my faves they have done.

I've had a crush on Phil Jamieson for 14 years haha. So lame!

Day 25: Banoffee with the Bellas

mmm Banoffee Pie from Portofinos. Was nice, but I prefer banoffee that is just tart shell, banana and toffee/caramel. Not really a fan of the cream based ones. Oh well.

Dinner with the girls was lots of fun! Portofinos is a pretty good restaurant too, with some very authentic Italian food.

Day 24: Sally's Spa ROCKS

Ok so I may be slightly addicted to Sally's Spa iphone app. I know the above doesn't look like a photo but technically it is, as I took a screenshot on my iphone so i could show everyone my awesome Expert level 19 happy customers spa skills. I played it all the way home on the plane last night, when i got home, when I got up, at lunchtime and the second I got home tonight. So. Much. Fun.

Day 23: Home is where the heart is

I had such a great day on Sunday, starting with having brunch with the most beautiful girls in Brissie, chilling with Jen and then having farewell drinks for my friend Mel at Byblos at Portside. Mel and I met in NYC last christmas and I adore her. She's moving to Scotland and I hope it all goes well for her. Hopefully I'll be back in Brissie by the time she gets back. Yay

Brunch was soooo much fun! I totally wanted to post a pic of the girls as Sunday's pic, but considering this blog isn't private I thought I had better not. My cheeks were hurting by the end of the morning from laughing so hard! Such a great group of girls and I'm so glad I got to spend time with them.

Day 22: Pippa!

Ok so I look stupid in this pic, but whatevs. I didn't take any other pics at all on Sat.

This is my grandma's new little puppy Pippa! She's sooo cute! Her hair is so long that it took me forever to find her eyes haha. She is just adorable and so well behaved, I didn't hear her make a noise at all until I was leaving and she did the tiniest little bark ever. I want to steal her!

Day 21: Cloudland

oh man, Cloudland is the B.O.M.B!!! Such a fantastic brissie venue and I can totally understand why there are lines out the door and can be up to a two month wait on dinner reservations. I took my lovely friend Jen there for her bday and we had a great time. The food is seriously amazing and so reasonably priced. It gets a bit noisy due to the pretty awesome live band, but asides from that no complaints whatsoever. The staff are friendly and attentive which is always nice.

Most importantly (imo) they have a huuuuge cocktail list!  Oh, and the dessert tasting plate is pretty damn cool too.

I can't wait to go back there soon!

Day 20: G.L.A.M.O.U.R.O.U.S yeah

Day 18: Pizza!

 

I was home sick today (boo) so had some time on my hands and decided to make pizza - it was awesome!

I made the dough from scratch, then rolled it out (well flattened it with my hands) added some parmesan, garlic butter, chilli and oregano and put in the oven. Unfortunately I left it too long (this has been happening to me all week, I think our oven has turned on its double-speed cooking mechanism) but it still tasted fab. Added some fresh chopped up tomatoes and mozarella and put it back in the oven for 5 mins. Despite the fact that it was a little crunchy (I hate crunchy food, I've been known to cook pies and pizza pockets in the microwave instead of the oven!) it was still really tasty and a very simple, easy lunch.

Day 17: I heart Priceline

I must confess that this is the 4th time I have bought stuff from Priceline in the last few weeks. I just can't help myself! There is always something decent and worthwhile to buy, and with the location of my office being less than 2 mins walk away, I really am in troublllllle!

Day 14: Random Twitter

It's not clear in the pic unforch, but in the Buzzin view on Tweetdeck it places a series of random words that are popular on Twitter. Anyway, I thought it was funny that three consecutive words came up - Dean deserves dinner. hahaha, that is the first time I have ever seen a proper sentence come up. Hopefully someone made Dean dinner.

Day 12: Milsons Point

I went for a shorter walk today just down to Milsons Point today with the intention of playing with the settings on my camera to work out good night shots. As you can see from the above pic, I failed. I don't know what I am doing wrong, but I think I will try to find a 1 day course on digital photography so I can learn how to use it properly and get the most out of it.

It was damn cold down by the water so I got out of there as soon as I could!

Day 11: The Opera House is blue

On my walk across the bridge and back tonight (this is starting to turn into a habit!) I noticed that the Opera House was bathed in blue light. I've had a quick look on google and it suggests that it could be for Jeans for Genes Day, however I can't be sure. Either way it looks stunning, as always.

Little disappointed with my camera though, I had been hoping for really clear and crisp night shots. Going to sit down by Luna Park tomorrow (after my walk) and read the manual and play with setting so I can work out how to get really good shots.
