Day 101: Eyeshadow

So after my nailpolish post, I thought I would start going through the rest of my makeup and started with my eyeshadows. I actually don't have as many eyeshadows as I thought I did, but still have many more than I actually need/use!

Edit: I might have added one more to this - the stunning Nars Strada e/s.

Day 98: Drink more water

Would Shannan Ponton from the Biggest Loser inspire you to drink more water?? Maybe! Anything is worth a shot considering how much I dislike water.

This was yet another random, impulse Priceline purchase!

Day 97: My first Christmas present for 2009

My new manager, the lovely Skye, went on maternity leave as of yesterday, and left me this lovely present! A bottle of pink, some wild hibiscus flowers (man I love these things) and some chocolates. Awesome! Was such a thoughtful gift and definitely put a smile on my face.

Day 95: Herb blini and scallops

I got my Masterchef on tonight in honour of the second last night of Aus Celeb Masterchef. I've just realised that I'm going to miss the final tomorrow - dammit.

I've been wanting to do something with scallops ever since I had them at Tapas a few weeks ago but jut haven't gotten around to it. I have a gorgeous cookbook that has a recipe for herb blini with seared scallops so thought I would give it a go. As usual though, I didn't actually follow the recipe and just did whatever I felt like.

It all tasted very good, but the blini was probably a little bit dry, and I think it needed some guacamole too soften it a little and balance it out.

The sauce was orange juice, balsamic vinegar and brown sugar - loved it!

Day 94: Pretty stationery

New job = new manilla folders!! No boring plain beige ones for me, I hunted high and low for pretty ones and came up with these little cuties from Smiggle. Yay! They have brightened up my desk and will make it much more comforting for me when things get stressed. Yes, pretty things calm me down.

I'm not even sure what labels I'll need for my folders yet (should suss out the other peoples folders in my team to see what they have) but for now they are sitting in a pile on my desk just waiting to be used.

Day 93: I love nailpolish

This pic won't come as a surprise to many of my friends - they are always commenting on my love of nailpolish. I just can't help it! I feel really uncomfortable without nailpolish on now, just because I am so used to always having something, even if it is just one light coat of a nude colour.

Turns out I have 65 polishes - and I know there are a couple missing from that, but they weren't in their rightful home (an overflowing pretty box) so they missed out on being in the pic.

From top to bottom
  • clears/blacks/grey
  • blues
  • purples
  • pinks
  • reds
  • nudes (incl light pinks) x2
  • corals/oranges

Day 92: Cranium

Today was a busy day, but lots of fun. Went shopping in the morning on a mission to repalce a skirt that I ripped and buy some christmas presents. Came home with no new skirt or any presents (except for me!!) - oops! Then I got my haircut and for some reason decided that I wanted to go shorter. Loved it at the time, then just a few hours later realised how stupid that was. I have spent ages trying to grow it long, and now I've cut it short - idiot. I want my 5 inches back!!

Then I headed to Cabana Bar to celebrate Dean's 30th and drank $25 jugs of cocktails - fun times! Met some lovely people there and caught up with Dean & Amanda's friends who I don't see that often but always love it when I do. They really are a great bunch of people :)
After Cabana (which I love btw, and plan on spending a lot more time there now that I have discovered the cocktail jugs) we headed back to D&A's to play Cranium haha. I had never played before but it was heaps of fun. Dean and Kel won the game, and I think it all came down to Dean's awesome version of Prince's Cream, and Kel's attempt to get Dean to realise that he was hanging a picture on the wall. 8 times! hehe

Day 91: Christmas Tree Action

Hooray for Christmas!! It has seemingly come around very quickly this year, but I don't mind as I absolutely love Christmas time. So much fun!!

This pic is of the christmas tree in the lobby/foyer (or as Americans would say, the foy-yay) of my work. I like that it is a classic style tree and not too overdone. I will no doubt be posting lots more pics of christmas trees over the next few weeks as I have seen plenty of gorgeous ones around and I am totally in the christmas spirit already!

Day 90: Happy Birthday Team Dean!

Dean's birthday was actually on the Friday, but I made him some cupcakes on the Thursday night to drop into NDY to celebrate his 30th birthday. Hooray! I wanted to make some little 30's to put on top of the cakes but just didn't have enough time unfortunately.

Pic below is of the cakes in their delivery box, which I freaked out cos I thought I didn't have any left but luckily there was one at the top of the cupboard.

Day 89: Penmanship

So apparently I hold my pen funny, hence today's pic of how I would normally hold my pen to write. I guess it is a little different to the usual thumb and forefinger grip, but it works for me and I have always done it that way and I doubt I will be able to change that. I tried the thumb and forefinger style today and just couldn't write anything properly.

When I was at school I had one of those rubber grips that are supposed to help, but obviously they didn't work.

Check my Britney pen - represent!!!

Day 87: It's Britney Bitch!!!!

omg, I was seriously jumping out of my skin all day yesterday in anticipating of the Britney concert. She was absolutely amazing!!!! No idea what all those whingers who have left early are talking about, the show was definitely worth the money and Britney was amazing. She's definitely still got it!! The lip syncing didn't bother me tbh, I don't really care if she can sing well live or not, though when she sang Everytime she did a really good job with it, and it sounded great.

The dancers and circus acts were just incredible and had so much energy. Britney can still dance as good as she always could, and there was some really good choreography in the show.  Highlights were Toxic, Womanizer and Slave 4 U (which is possibly my fave Britney song ever!)

Honestly, the show was sensational! I can't even begin to say enough good things about it. Was so good to see her back out there performing. Love her!!

This is all the merch I bought!

Day 86: Canberra

After Sculptures yesterday, Jen and I headed south to Canberra as neither of us had been before and I figure if I move home at the end of next year (which is the plan at this stage) then this will prob be one of my last opportunities to get down there (considering in the last 4 years I have lived in Sydney I've never been)

The drive down was easy thankfully, was lots of fun to go on a roadtrip! We went to Telstra Tower, the War Memorial, Parliament House and Cockington Green.

Lots more photos on facebook.

Day 85: Sculptures by the Sea

For the last few years I have been saying that I must go see Sculptures at Bondi but I never go, but this year since Jen was in town, I thought it would be the perfect time to go see it and I am so glad that I did. There were some amazing sculptures there and it was a gorgeous day to do the Bondi to Tamarama walk (although I got very sunburnt and it hurts like hell atm)

There are two of my fave shots, there will be plenty more added to facebook later so check them out!

Day 83: Impromptu thunderstorm!

I absolutely lvoe storms, but not so much when I get stuck outside in them. So random as it was a gorgeous day in Sydney then at about 4pm it got overcast and at 5.30 BANG motherfucker - the storm hit.
Took this pic while I was taking cover under the overpass over Pacific Hwy at North Sydney

Day 82: FOTD

I think this is going to be my new standard work FOTD. loved it.

Day 81: New addiction

So most people know how addicted I was to Sally's Spa and also how devastated I was when I had conquered all 50 levels - twice!!

The lovely Hannah mentioned to me I should check out Cooking Dash and I love it, but its harder to do than Sally's Spa. Just when I was starting to think I wasn't up for the challenge I got an Expert score. Ohhh yeahhhh!!

Day 80: Lemon Detox

Ugh, this detox is foul. do not do it!!!

Day 79: Some light reading

So its a miserable rainy day in Sydney today and I have decided to catch up on some reading. I buy magazines all the time and never read them, so today I am starting to tackle them along with a couple of newly purchased cookbooks.

Day 78: Christmas decorations

I love Christmas time, and I especially love decorations! I took this photo of some decorations in Myer and didn't realise at the time it was all blurry, but its the only photo I took yesterday so too bad so sad!

There are some really gorgeous decorations out this year, especially bright colourful ones which are what I prefer. Cannot wait to start decorating this year!!

Day 77: Tapas!

I had tapas today with some of my fave people from my old work. I love catching up with these ladies, we always have a good time and it's fun to hear how they are all doing. It's the only thing I miss about my old job, is all of the fantastic people that I got to spend my days with (mind you, there were some annoying people too haha!)

We went to a new spanish tapas place at the Rydges hotel in North Sydney and it was really nice. I think we'll definitely be going there again, though it is a little far from the girls' office (but very close to mine!)

Day 76: Perfume

I saw pic today of a Britney Spears perfume collection of minis and knew that I HAD to have them however Myer at Chatswood let me down and didn't have them. Booooo. I smelt the new Circus Fantasy and it is so pretty - have added it to my Christmas list!

Anyway, it made me think of the perfumes that I already have, and that is what today's pic is of. I wear perfume every day unless I forget, but that happens very rarely. As you can see, I love Ralph Lauren perfumes, Notorious is my fave night time sexy perfume atm. Even though I love the RL line, my all time fave perfume is Sentiment by Escada. It's so and pretty and smells like lollies. Yum! This is my second bottle of it and it's nearly all finished. Need to add that to my Christmas list too.

Day 75: Makeup from the US

So, I ordered some makeup from the US for myself and the girls at work and this is what landed on my desk on Wednesday!! Was sooooo much fun playing with everything. Love it!!

I totally wish Sephora shipped here, though my credit card most definitely does not. Sephora was one of my fave things when I was in the US, so much makeup goodness can be found inside.

Day 74: Melbourne Cup

Melbourne Cup is one of my favourite days of the year. It's always a fun day and it gives me a legitimate reason to wear some crazy headwear!

This year was a particularly fun day. At the company I work for, we had a calcutta where the horses are all auctioned off to different teams, and the team I am part of got the winning horse! Hooray!

These are the hats we made:

And one of the funniest things of the day was a few drunk people pushing a car who had stalled haha. Goood times!

Day 73: Hair Accessories - part 1

Tomorrow is Melbourne Cup and the girls at work and I spent the afternoon making hats! Fun times! We decided they needed a little more jazzing up (lol) so I am taking in all of my hair clips (not headbands though) so that we can add flowers and bows to our hat creations.

I feel like I have more than is in this pic, but I have been trying to be good in putting things away after I use them, so I am going to assume that this is it for the clips, casual fabric headbands, and hair ties.

Will post pics some day soon of my headband collection, it's a little bit out of control atm.

Hot tips for the Cup are Viewed, Shocking, Roman Emperor and the fave Alcopops. Get on it!

Day 72: Balmoral Wine Festival

Had such a good day today! The gorgeous J and I went to the Hunter Valley Wine Festival at Balmoral Beach. So many lovely wines there, but we forgot what our favourite was! We think it was a Verdelho but no idea which vineyard it came from. Dammit!

It was the perfect day to spend drinking wine at the beach, it was all warm and sunny today in Sydney which was great cos we've had some really crappy weather lately. Even better tho, was the fantastic company!!

And these are some musk cupcakes I made for Miss J, which I couldn't resist putting up after a certain person commented that my blog is mainly cupcakes - this one is for you M!! (I totes know you are stalking my blog now haha)
