Day 358: Cheap Accessories

I was wandering the shops today (I was on a mission to find a yellow dress) and this cream headband caught my eye in a store front. Right next to the headbands were these cute little hairclips which match my favourite bow ring. They look a lot like Mimco but were about 1/10th the price. For the headband and the clips I paid a total of $8.95. Crazy!

The headband is actually quite bendy and much more comfortable than many of the other hard bands that I have.

Day 340: Another necklace

This is the necklace I'm wearing today.

LOVE!!

I'm really liking this style of necklace recently. I guess it's semi-bib-style or maybe it is just outright bib-style. Hmmm. Either way, I love it!

This necklace is part of Lovisa's Sorbet collection. If you haven't already done so, you should check out their stores and website - http://www.lovisa.com.au/ They have some really beautiful pieces available that will dress up your outfits!

Day 336: Pink flower necklace

I have worn this necklace a lot since I bought it. I love that you can't miss it but the softness of it makes it subtle as well.

I've also realised that I have less than a month left of writing this blog.

Day 322: Jewellery

This is my jewellery board for necklaces and bracelets. It is currently holding maybe 75% of the necklaces and bracelets I have. I think I need to buy a new ones as some of the hooks have 3 or 4 necklaces on them. No wonder it fell down the other day!

Day 274: still raining...

So more shopping was done! Actually I spent most of the day in bed hungover and with a yucky cold and only hit the shops this afternoon to pick up this Witchery wallet that I fell in love with online. I tried to buy it at the NS store yesterday but they didn't have it. Thankfully Chatswood did! I also grabbed this pretty eyeshadow palette which I think will be good for simple everyday looks (both items had 25% off too - bargain)

Couldn't resist picking up a couple of cute kikki k items as well - to do list post-its, patterned lead pencils and a white gel pen for all my coloured post-its. I also got my favourite shampoo/conditioner/treatment pack, a copy of good taste and a set of three ruffled singlets for the baby which were reduced to $4 at kmart.

Day 272: new accessories store

I went to Macquarie Centre tonight with my lovely coworker Anne and got to meet her hubby and gorgeous little boy. After dinner we parted ways and I couldn't find anything that I had gone there for (typical!) but of course managed to find some cheap accessories at Diva and Equip.

After leaving those stores I came across a new store called Lovisa which is basically a new version of Diva and even carries a number of the same products. It looks like a slightly more grown up version in my opinion and has a lot more funky headbands than similar stores. Price points are around the same as Diva and Equip, possibly a little higher. I didn't buy anything this time but am sure it will soon become a favourite store of mine.

Here are the things I bought tonight:

Day 270: the rains are here

I am possibly the most tragic person ever. It has been pouring like a mofo today and on my way home I did a little raid through the shops in NS to cheer myself up.

The BH90210 DVD came in the mail which was awesome! Looking forward to seeing what kind of scandalous behaviour goes on in this season.

Can't wait to make little heart-shaped cupcakes. How cute! I actually bought the little individual tin before I saw the six hole tray. They were the same price haha.

Btw, the necklaces were on sale at Diva. Yep, the $5 sale is back on. Get on it!

Day 264: Birthday present

Today I wore this gorgeous necklace that my friend Jody bought me for my birthday. I absolutely love it! I got a lot of compliments on it today from people all over the place.

In other news I met up with tge old NDY crew for dinner and we saw Matt Lee from SYTYCD. I love him! At dinner the lovely Mel asked if I would make cupcakes for her baby shower this weekend. Yay!! No idea what to do yet tho. Pics to come in future posts.

Day 263: Peacocking

I love the term peacocking and use it whenever I can!

I keep trying on this peacock ring at Diva. I like it but never enough to buy it. Hmmm. One of these days I am sure that I will cave & get it.

Day 241: Stuff

So I mentioned that I went shopping on Thursday night and this is what I bought.

Having a serious case of buyers remorse that's for sure. I think I might return the leather jacket actually as it's not exactly what I wanted but I bought it because I hadn't found anything else. I think I'd rather not have one at all if I can't get the perfect one.

The second lot of buyers remorse came with the items you can see there from Priceline. As with many other women, I have trouble walking out of Priceline without buying something.

The stuff on the top right incl the patent tote bag came as a free gift if you spent $50 on products by certain brands. I spent substantially more than that abd when I got home and opened the bag I was actually disappointed as I didn't need or want the majority of the items in it and probably won't use the bag. Ooops.

Loving my new handbag, headband and cupcake papers though so it's not all bad :-)

Day 235: retreat day 2

This isn't exactly the best photo of me, but whatevs, it's part of the story!

After a big morning starting at 8am (I sometimes am not even awake at 8am on weekdays cos I live so close to work) we headed out of the centre we were staying at to go rock climbing! Woooo!

Was lots of fun and was really good in assisting with building good relationships within the team and promoting teamwork to achieve a desired result. I managed to take 200 photos lol. Here is just one...
After a quick trip back to our accommodation to change, shower and have a few drinks we went to dinner at Limani's in Narrabeen. The food there was fantastic and I'd highly rec going there if you live in the area.We had amazing mixed seafood & Mediterranean platters to start with, which I followed with grilled barramundi and a citrus tart. Very yummy!

We were each required to wear a hat that either had a story to it or was a reflection of our personalities. Now, despite me having an awful lot of hair accessories, I am not really a hat fan. I've got about 6- a Powderfinger train driver hat, a pink pimp fedora, a Sharkies cap, races hat and 2 cloches. None of them really have a story so I decided my silver sequin Minnie mouse ears fit the bill.

They were reflective of my love if cutesy, sparkly things but also had a story from my US holiday to Disneyland last year.

Dinner was lots of fun but most people headed to dinner straight after we got back as they were exhausted from rock climbing.

Day 210: Well, I didn't go to AH...

But I did visit some other stores to see what they had to offer! I had to pick up my Internet USB thingo and as I was walking out I spied a cream cloche in Forever New! I seriously nearly wet myself with excitement! And even better that it was cheap. Yewww! Cream is one of my fave colours and I couldn't resist this cute cloche as I have been looking for one since buying 1 from Forever 21 (I think it's been mentioned in another post). I also picked ip this light pink/peach scarf & a pair of silver earrings, tho I have misplaced the earrings somewhere.

Also couldn't resist some girly jewellery from Equip. The necklaces were 2 for 1 and the bow ring was too cute to leave. All the jewellery suits my personal style (if you can call it that lol).

Clothing wise I picked up a black cropped jacket and a little black bolero (back is shown in pic) that has sequins along the top of it. As I don't like having my arms exposed, I an always wearing boleros so I love that this one gives it a more dressed up/nighttime spin on my plain black ones. I didn't really need the belt but I thought it was cute and I don't have any in patent leather (I think... Hehe)

Day 196: curls and pink

So the bright pink pashmina ruined all the soft pink goodness I had going on but it was damn freezing in our office (as per usual) and my  (well toponcho its being called around the office. Its a tank with a poncho style layer over the top, but whatesvs) just didn't cut it.

The point of this pic was to show my curly hair. It's rare that people see and when they do no one ever believes its natural. I hate the thought that people think I deliberately try to make my hair look this way! Gross!

Work was, well, work but afterwards I had dinner with Anna & Fee in McMahons Point and then went to see Valentine's Day (again!) at Mosman. Was a fun night out in the rain. I loved the movie just as much the second time around. So cute!

Day 171: Forever 21

As mentioned in my post from Friday, my wonderful friend Makia did a group order fora  few of us from US store Forever 21. I love being able to buy things from US stores without paying ginormous postage costs (F21 has a flat rate of $35 up to $400 - I wish Torrid would take note of this!!!)

When M gave me the package the first thing I said was "I don't even remember what I bought, except for the jacket" which got lots of laughs from the girls! seriously, I am such a dumbass! So, for those playing a home I got a cute black cropped jacket that has silver detailing on the shoulders, a cloche (!!! love this!!!), 2 headbands, some flower hairclips and some gold bird earrings.

I am totally in luuurrrrrve with the cloche and cannot wait til winter so I can wear it EVERYWHERE!!!

You'll notice only 1 headband in the pic, that's cos I gave the other one to Andrea after calling it ugly! I've just realised that that's probably kind of rude to palm off 'ugly' items to other people. Ooops! It's not that I think it's ugly per se, just that it wasn't what I was expecting and I probably wouldn't wear it. Was happy to give it a new home otherwise it would have just got lost in the rest of my headband collection, possibly never to be seen again.

Thanks again M for doing the order!!! You rock!!!

Day 170: Resisting temptation

I'm really over shops in the airport terminals tempting me to buy stuff! It seems that every time I fly out of Brissie I end up at gate 22 which is where Mimco is located. ARRGGGHHHHH!!!

Today was extra hard because staring right at me was the cute black bow necklace that I want. dammit.

I told myself though that I need to exercise some self control. I sat across from that pretty bow necklace for an hour and only at the last second before my plane boarded did I actually walk into the store and look closely at it. Conveniently the bow necklace didn't have a price tag so I took that as a sign that I didn't need it.

Its now 5 weeks into this year and my plans to be healthy and save money have not fallen into place like I had planned. Time to get real, man up and take action!

Day 153: What's your addiction?

Is it girls? Is it money? Is it weed? Well no, Kanye West has dibs on all those unfortunately (damn him!), so therefore mine must be shopping. Oh dear.

I bought 2 books - Lauren Conrad's second book "Sweet Little Lies" which was an awesome surprise as I thought it wasn't out til 1st Feb and Elizabeth Noble's "Things I Want my Daughters to Know" These will assist me in taking part in #morereadinglesstweeting.

Alannah Hill was have a 50% off sale so I bought from there the If I Was a Bird hairclips, Born to Please necklace and Unfinished Sympathy headband. I already have outfits planned in my head that these accessories will complement. Looking forward to wearing the necklace with ym For Audrey CG nail polish. Yessss matchy matchy heaven.

So umm, no shopping for a long time now.

Day 143: Alannah Hill

It's well known that I love accessories (there are plenty of posts on this blog that confirm this!) and I have added a new piece to my constantly growing collection.

The latest addition is the gorgeous "It's A Circus" headband from Alannah Hill. It looks massive, but for some reason when you put it on it doesn't seem quiet as big even though it still takes up half my head haha. I thought I'd show off my other Alannah Hill accessories as I simply just love them. Actually, I adore Alannah's clothing line as well, but unfortunately none of it will fit me. If it did, I think the majority of my wardrobe would come from there!

Also eyeing off a very cute bag there atm, but I know I should be good as I plan on being budget friendly this year (more to come on this in future posts).

For now, enjoy the gorgeousness that is Alannah Hill!

Day 139: Shopping Spree

I went shopping at Parra tonight to see if there were any more bargains to be had at the City Chic sale and turns out there was! Yay! There were so many pretty dresses makred down to $30 or $40 that I really liked but they were all wrong sizes (all XS ans XL) however I did manage to find the dress in the pic above - It was marked down from $180 to $20!!! Score!!

I also picked up:
a headband (cos you know, I don't have enough already)
Britney's For the Record dvd (it made me cry when I watched it on tv)
Tony Ferguson magazine (stories in it are really inspring)
tart tins for hen I attempt Matt Moran's chocolate tart
black tank top
Australia fan lol
another necklace from Diva

Shopping problem?? Not at all!

Day 138: Diva is the female version of a hustlerrrr

hahaha, I love this Beyonce song, it gets stuck in my head ALL the freakin time!

It's totally irrelevant to the post, but whatevs. So today is a pic of my Diva haul over the past week. I love accessories so Diva is right up my alley. Lots of fun, cute and on trend accessories at an affordable price. And at the moment, a lot of those pieces are on SALE!!! Yewww! Everything in the pics was $5 (except the fascinator, it was $3 lol) so I paid a small amount for a lot of great accessories.

So I got...
3 x structured headbands
2 x loose hadbands (eg, the elastic band and tie up styles)
3 x flower clips
2 x necklaces
3 x rings
1 x pearl comb
1 x fascinator
2 x pairs earrings

Score!! Wish I had kept all the tags so I knew exactly how much I had saved. I know on 4 items, I spent $20 and saved $46 (2 x rings, the elastic headband and the black bow headband)

ps - one of the things that annoys me about diva sales is that there can be two identical items, jsut in different colours, but only one of the colours is on sale.

Day 122: My new shoes!

I needed a second (well 5th or 6th in the end!) opinion on whether I should buy these shoes or not, so posted this pic to the twitter girls asking what they thought. The answer was YES! So I bought my cheap $15 KMart shoes and I loooove them! They are soft and comfy and the silver pattern on them is different to any other shoes I've seen out there recently. How funny that I debated a cheap $15 pair of shoes, yet don't think twice about buying a dress for $150. Go figure!
